Dredging Operation

For more than 20 years, SOUTHPORT has dredged throughout the State of Florida and the Caribbean Sea, built wharfs, piers, and outfall structures. Working on and around waters is SOUTHPORT’s specialty.

SOUTHPORT owns and operates a fleet of hydraulic cutter-head dredges with discharge lines of 12” to 18”. Projects include maintenance dredging, deepening waterways, land reclamation, and mineral mining. AES Ocean LNG, Ltd. hired SOUTHPORT to manage dredging operations at Ocean Cay in the Bahamas. More than one million tons of aragonite deposits were dredged from the Bahamian seabed and pumped through a 1.5 miles long pipeline onto land for processing.
